Sun is an unlimited resource in Mira Mesa, and protection from this ever present natural element is much needed in Mira Mesa Community Park.
Working with youth arts organization The AjA Project , I co-hosted workshops with local young artists to generate locally connected terrestrial and celestial imagery that project as shadow drawings from the water jet pavilion walls and ceiling.
Imagery and composition developed with the Mira Mesa Community Art Teen Fellows were inspired by local leaders, educators, cosmologists, and naturalists during Mira Mesa Commmunity Art Week.
