Panoramic Sugar Eggs

Sugar sculpture    2015    Velaslavasay Panorama, Los Angeles

Polar Panoramic Sugar Eggs present a lost Easter craft from the Victorian Era. Hand molded, piped, and sculpted in sugar, each egg holds a peephole that opens onto a secret interior scene. Much like the quickly dissolving landscapes of the arctic and antarctic, these vignettes offer views of fragile icy worlds, represented in sugary miniature.

Created as part of the VP Polar Year, these limited-edition objects were on view at the lobby area of the Velaslavasay Panorama, Los Angeles' center for the pre-cinematic arts.
